Zion Lutheran Church Official Mission Statement and Proposed Mission Statement

Official Mission Statement

The congregation is charged by the Articles of Incorporation and Constitution to innovate, sponsor, and evaluate new forms of community that will encourage development of the fullest potential for individuals.  We therefore support social climates in which human communities are maintained and strengthened for the sake of every person.

The purpose of our existence as Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is to reach out to arenas of human need wherever love and service may convey God's love and our own.  The outreach of God knows no limits, for the mission of our Church exists in and for the secular world.

Specifically, the mission of the Church is to:

  • Provide a place of worship, study, and service for the community in Christ, including residential facilities for staff, Lots 7-8, Blk 8 SS ADD in Idaho springs, will provide the residential facility if ever required.  It will also provide classroom space for Zion Lutheran activities and office space for Zion Lutheran Staff.  Lots 5-6, Blk 8 SS ADD, Idaho Springs will provide space for worship, study and fellowship events for Zion Lutheran congregation.

  • Provide meeting and office space free or at cost for charitable community, national and world organizations, and other charitable organizations as their needs arise.

  • Provide religiously-oriented child care; such care as Christian education classes require and nursery care during worship periods.

Proposed Mission Statement

We are a gathering of believers, set free from the consequences of sin by our God-given faith in Jesus Christ.

In response to God's love, we gather to hear and learn the word of God and celebrate the sacraments.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we reach out to others that the world may know God's love.
